Zayed Festival Abu Dhabi

The Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi has become one of the region’s most celebrated annual events, and the New Year’s Eve 2023-2024 edition was no exception. This year’s celebrations broke four Guinness World Records, including one for the largest fireworks display and another for an extensive drone show. Over 5,000 drones and 40 minutes of fireworks lit up the sky at the Al Wathba festival grounds, attracting spectators from around the world. The Celebration was broadcasted live on TV for spectators that could not make it to the venue itself.

Laser Saga was honored to contribute to this monumental event by supplying over 30 units of our high-power 40W RGB laser systems. Our lasers were meticulously positioned to enhance the pyrotechnics, creating breathtaking visuals that could be seen across the venue. In addition to the challenging outdoor environment, we had to ensure that the powerful laser systems were operated safely and precisely, particularly given the scale of the event.

One of the primary challenges was ensuring that the lasers synchronized perfectly with the 40-minute fireworks display, therefor a close coorditation with Ruggieri fireworks teams was essential element in setup and operation of this show. We have used precise timecode control and start syncronization between Pyro and Laser controllers for flawless coordination with the fireworks team.

The result was a visually stunning show that left a lasting impression on all attendees and viewers, both on-site and those following online and on TV. The event highlighted Laser Saga’s technical capabilities and expertise in handling large-scale, complex installations while collaborating seamlessly with event organizers and other technical teams.
